A qualified intermediary licensed by Investors Exchange, Ms. Cohen enables and transacts Starker (delayed) Exchanges. A member of the New Jersey Association of Real Estate Attorneys, Ms. Cohen also provides expertise in the fields of real estate transactions; corporate and commercial matters; employment law; Trademark/Copyright; civil litigation and appellate practice to her clients.

Ms. Cohen is an advocate for truth-in-billing. She cares about her clients and the accuracy of time spent handling her clients' matters. As testimony to this fact, Ms. Cohen bills down to .05 increments of time as opposed to the higher increments most firms bill their clients for minimum time spent.

Ms. Cohen received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, Newark, New Jersey and her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University with a major in French. Ms. Cohen, a practicing attorney for twenty-five years, first gained vast experience at major corporations such as AGFA-GEVAERT, Inc. and as an associate in private law practice.Lauren is on the Executive Board of The Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to opening her own practice in 1995, Ms. Cohen acted as sole in-house counsel to Brandon Systems Corporation, an Am-Ex listed company, where she organized their first legal department and was responsible for providing legal counsel for all corporate matters, including review, negotiation and drafting of all real estate leases and service agreements; licensing of technology; wrongful termination and discrimination matters, employee benefits and employment agreements; and immigration matters.

As in-house counsel for Anchor Savings Bank (now Dime Savings Bank), a $7+ billion thrift, Ms. Cohen organized the New Jersey Division's first legal department, supervising outside litigation, handling foreclosure and bankruptcy matters and all aspects of residential and commercial loan acquisitions and disposals in addition to general corporate matters. Ms. Cohen was employed by the Lynch Corporation as their sole in-house attorney where she provided counsel in all corporate matters, including reviewing, negotiation and drafting of contracts of distribution, licensing of technology, real property leases, vendor contracts and SEC reporting and compliance.

At her employment at AGFA-GEVAERT, INC., a $400 million corporation, Ms. Cohen was sole in-house counsel to the corporation and its subsidiaries engaged in the manufacture and distribution of consumer and commercial photographic and medical x-ray products. Ms. Cohen also practiced as an Associate attorney for the firm of Sternlieb & Gerber where she handled a variety of corporate and commercial matters including real estate, employment law, Trademark/Copyright, civil litigation and appellate practice.

Ms. Cohen is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, Bergen County Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel of New Jersey; and is a Trustee of the Bergen Museum of Art and Sciences. She was the recipient of a Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award in 1982 and was honored in "Who's Who of American Women" from 1981 to 1990.

Ms. Cohen is fluent, both verbally and written, in Spanish and French, and is able to handle technical matters in both languages. .
